Last week, I bought my 16 & 12 yr. old sons an 8 wk. old German Shepherd puppy. I've ALWAYS been TERRIFIED of ANY & ALL dogs!!! No one ever thought I'd buy my sons a dog, but I did for all our sakes. I want desperately to love this dog, but I'm afraid of him. I don't know why because he's so precious! I've made some great strides towards accepting him as a part of our family. I talk "baby talk" to him, I pet him, I rub his head & behind his ears, but his has to be either in his kennel or in my son's arms. I don't like him to jump on me, lick me, or even gallop in my direction. He's a typical puppy and I know he likes & recognizes me, but how can I overcome my fears? I don't have much time because I know he'll become really big, really fast. How can I know the difference between when he's playing and when he's trying to be dominant? I know he can sense fear, so I try to hide it, but is there any help or advice out there for me??? I want to love him without fear.

hi, i have a 11 week old Am Staff puppy and she seems to display dominant behavior, so we are firm with her and she is starting to give up faster when we stand our ground. My question is, will she ever learn to be submissive all the time? when do puppies grow out of the rebellious stage? any answers will help, thanks
