well depending how old the dog is, if its still a pup maybe he's just teething. this will eventually go away when all his adult teeth are out. just give him plenty of toys and chewing bones thats way he wont chew up all ur furniture and shoes! but on the other hand, if it's an adult dog, then what you can do if just buy a spray at petsmart or wherever and spray it all over where he likes to bite. It's suppose to do produce a bitter tastes to dogs when licked or chewed. and if that still doesnt work, just yell no everytime the dog tries to bite and tap the nose just hard enough to let him know that it's not right to do. Good luck!

Most puppies are very "mouthy", meaning they like the mouth and bite both people, other dogs, and objects. For most breeds, this is pretty normal, and they will go through a similar stage when they are teething when they're a little older.
My first question is, how old was your puppy when he/she was removed from the litter? Most dogs learn a skill called "bite inhibition" in between 8 and 12 weeks old. This is the reason many breeders will not separate them younger than 12 weeks, whereas many pet stores and backyard breeders sell as soon as 8 weeks.
If your pup has not learned bite inhibition from playing with mom and his/her siblings, it's time to teach it at home.
When your puppy mouths / bites you, make a high pitched yelping sound, then immediately get up and completely ignore the dog. Don't say "no", don't push the dog off, don't make eye contact. Just yelp, then walk away completely ignoring *any*thing your puppy is doing to get your attention.
This way, puppy learns that biting stops all play and interaction IMMEDIATELY, and in turn, they learn to play nicer. It may take a couple of days, but as long as you are consistent (and instruct everyone else who comes in contact with your pup to be consistent as well), it works.

well one they bite you put your thumb on the top of their mouth and press and if you keep doing that then they will stop it doesnt hurt them but it makes them not bite one you have your hand in there

If he is very young, under six months he might still be teething. My pups did this constant gnawing and nipping thing until they got past about six months. Correct him nonetheless, tell him no and be firm with it. Also invest in a good chew toy, like Puppy Kong or a Nylabone, but no rawhide if he is under six months of age. Good luck.

When it bites you smack it on the nose and say NO!. Don't smack it real hard though. Another way is when it bites you is to squeal. This is like when it plays with other puppies, so it will know the noise and know to stop because it is being to rough.

Train the dog not to bite or nip. When she bites a resounding NO and ignoring her will teach her to stop. Never touch or continue to play when she bites. Get up and walk away. If the problem gets extreme, spraying vinegar on the things she bites or chew will immediately stop her. Never give chews when she bites as this reinforces the behavior. In essence you are treating for unwanted behavior.
Remember consistancy is key, overnight success does not happen, give the training some time.
